A leader in the field of court reporting named as Forrest M. Brown founded the Brown College of Court Reporting in 1972.

Over the years, the Brown College of Court Reporting has strived to develop an exclusive national reputation and adapt itself to the technological advances and trends of the industry.

Coyne American Institute that bears a training experience of more than a century purchased the brown College of Court Reporting in 2009.

Court Reporting—Stenography:

In this method of court reporting a machine called as stenotype and a computer is used in order to write phrases and words quickly with an enhanced accuracy.

The Court Reporting—Stenography programs offered by the college are designed in such a way so that the students could be prepared to take certification exam of the state.

The program also aims to groom the students in order to make them eligible for the entry level posts in court-reporting field.

The Court reporting graduates of Brown College develop the skill of writing about 225 words per minute with an approximate accuracy of 95%.

Court Reporting—Voice Writing:

In this method the verbatim records are generated using a mask like device containing a microphone in it. This device is attached to the computer and the words spoken in this device are transformed into the text using computer software.

The Court Reporting—Voice Writing program of Brown College holds on to the mission of grooming the students in order to make them eligible for an entry level post in the field of court reporting.
