Mission:

The charter college holds on to the mission of becoming a leader in career-focused, post-secondary education by fostering student-centered and collaborative learning environment. The college is also committed to provide assistance to the students in order to enrich, advance and change their careers.

A brief epitome of the history of college:

The charter College was established in 1985 in Anchorage, Alaska. The basic concept of the foundation of the college was to provide higher education to the Anchorage community in an exclusive manner.

Canyon Country California campus was opened with the different name 10 years ago. However, owing to the common mission and leadership adopted the Charter College name.

Today the Charter College bears the honor of having 10 on ground campuses in Alaska, California and Washington. The college offers 30 different learning programs in a career-oriented perspective. All programs are designed to foster career growth and employment opportunities.

Giving you the tools you need to succeed:

The Charter College strives to accomplish the needs of the students. Following are some of the student resources which are provided by the college.
  • Tutoring:
Becoming well-averse in the related subject is important for the success of students. The Charter College offers multiple tutoring services to the students. The students can get assistance in test preparation, course-work and lab specialties.
  • On-Campus Resource Centers:
Resource centers are available at all on-ground campuses. Computers, industry magazines, law and business books and other texts are available at these resource centers.
  • Special lectures:
The College arranges special lectures in order to update the knowledge of the students about current industry trends and opportunities. Different guests may arrive at the college in order to deliver such special lectures.
  • Directors of Student Success:
In each campus there is a director of student success. The student success directors provide assistance to the students in order to grab success. The student success directors provide help in getting externships, managing work schedules and solving the overwhelming study issues of the students.
  • Charter students online resources:
The college provides access to unique homepages where the students can gather information about their classes’ schedules and they can access various online resources.
  • MyFoundationsLab:
The students are encouraged to participate in MyFoundationsLab in order to polish their reading, writing and mathematical skills which are likely to assist the students in college courses.

Career Services:

The Charter College also provides career services to the students in order to deliver new career related training to the students. The college provides assistance to the students in getting the jobs. The career services department of Charter College provides guidance for the career related issues.

The college director, programs directors, placement coordinator and faculty work closely to foster partnerships between the graduates and employers. Job placement assistance and career planning opportunities are also provided to the graduates of Charter College.

Charter College Wasilla and Charter College Anchorage are authorized by the Alaska Commission on Post-Secondary Education  in order to confer bachelor degrees.

Free GED preparation:

Through GED (General Education Development), a student is able to continue his or her education and avail new career opportunities. The Charter College confers a series of classes in order to assist those having no high school diplomas, earn their GED. These classes are commenced free of cost.

The course is structured in order to prepare the students for successful completion of GED test. The topics covered include time management, test taking, setting life goals, managing stress and financial literacy.

Educating military service members and veterans:

The Charter College enrolls many active military service members, veterans and their dependents. The college fosters a way to earn post-secondary education and helps the military personnel and their dependents to achieve their goals.
