About

Mission:

The Everglades University holds on to the mission of providing quality education to the adult learners in a collaborative environment in order to foster the personal growth of each individual.

The accomplishment of this mission is based on the innovative programs and small class sizes. The academic endeavor is supported by scholarly contribution, research and service to confer undergraduate and graduate programs.

Goals and Objectives:

The Everglades University encompasses the following goals and objectives.
To improve continuously and ensure the effectiveness of the programs offered by the university in order to foster the career success of its students.

To hire and maintain qualified and competent faculty that possess contemporary professional and technical knowledge and experience while bearing the ability to transmit the knowledge to the students.
  • To enhance verbal, written, technical and analytical skills of the students.
  • To maintain the facilities that support educational programs.
  • To maintain caring staff members who provide support to the students in meeting their educational objectives and goals.
  • To attract the students belonging to diverse backgrounds.

A brief epitome of the history of University:

The Everglades University was established in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in September 1990. At inception its name was decided as American Flyers College. After getting accredited and licensed under the standards of Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT) and Florida State Board of Independent Colleges and Universities (SBICU), the institution became eligible to award Associate of Science degrees.

In order to better serve the student community, the institution shifted to Pompano Air Park in 1997.  After about three years in 2000, the institution expanded its range of programs to include Bachelor of Science degrees with majors in Information Technology, Aviation Management, Business Administration, Applied Management and Professional Aviation.

In 2002, the institution savored the honor of being one of the first colleges in the country to confer Bachelor of Science degree with major in Alternative Medicine.

In January 2003, the institution got approval from State of Florida, Department of Education and Commission for Independent Education to open   Sarasota Branch Campus.

In May 2003, Everglades got the approval to confer Master’s Degree in Aviation Science, Information technology and Business Administration. In December 2003, the institution officially changed its name to Everglades University.

Major Accreditation:

Accreditation is reckoned as a standard against which the schools, colleges and universities are evaluated in context of the quality of education, and the operating practices.

In order to confirm the high standards of educational excellence, the accreditation agencies continuously evaluate the integrity, continuous improvement, accountability and open communication of the institutions which reside on their rosters.

The accreditation instills confidence in the educational community and institutions' constituencies. In order to evaluate the transfers of credit and applications for postgraduate study, the colleges and universities also rely on the accreditation status.

The Everglades University bears the honor of being majorly accredited by Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Student services:

The Everglades University encompasses following student services 
  • Academic Advising
Academic advisors are assigned to the students in order to provide academic assistance to the students. Students can meet the academic advisors and discuss on CUM GPA, Courses required for the completion of the degree, progress and attendance reports. Students can contact with the academic advisors either in person or by phone/Email.
  • Orientation
The orientation program is organized by Everglades University in order to get the students acquainted with the operations and people of the university. Through the orientation program, the students are introduced to the mission, traditions, academic standards, rules, regulations and study techniques.
  • Placement
The students of Everglades University also get assistance for finding a career upon graduation. The administration of University provides guidance about the career development skills and assists the students in figuring out the employment opportunities in their chosen fields. The placement service is available to both on-campus and on-line students.
