A brief epitome of the history of college:

Kaplan Career Institute was established in 1958 as RETS Electronics School. The school was meant for providing theoretical and practical training in the field of electronics. Initially, the graduates were employed in radio and television fields. However, in late 60s and 70s, training was also commenced in other electronics fields such as computers, computer networking, biomedical, communications, consumer electronics and fiber optics.

In 1990, the name of the school was changed from RETS Electronics School to RETS Technical Center.

In 1996, the institution expanded its range of training to include ventilation, heating, refrigeration and air conditioning. In 2000, the school also introduced medical assistant training program.

Quest Education Corporation, a subsidiary of Kaplan, Inc., acquired the school in 2002. In May 2004, the school relocated to Rutherford Avenue and in 2008 its name was changed to Kaplan Career Institute.

Accreditations:

Accreditation is reckoned as a standard against which the schools, colleges and universities are evaluated in context of the quality of education, and the operating practices.

In order to confirm the high standards of educational excellence, the accreditation agencies continuously evaluate the integrity, continuous improvement, accountability and open communication of the institutions which reside on their rosters.

The accreditation instills confidence in the educational community and institutions' constituencies. In order to evaluate the transfers of credit and applications for postgraduate study, the colleges and universities also rely on the accreditation status.

Career Services:

The Kaplan Career Institute is committed to the future success of students. The staff and faculty members strive to prepare the students and train them for accomplishment in the chosen fields.  The institute gives importance to the success of students, so the career services department is available to assist the students for career planning.

In order to devise an effective career search strategy, the institution provides guidance for career planning and assessment. Through the career services provided by the institution, the students may learn to write effective cover letters and resumes. The students may also get to enhance their interviewing skills so that favorable first impression could be placed on prospective employers.
The institution also provides guidance in locating job openings by using newspaper ads and by searching jobs on internet.  

Ongoing Career Services
The institute provides on-going career services to its students, even after an individual is employed. The students of Kaplan Career Institute are encouraged to contact the school for getting assistance in updating resumes and use of resources that are available in the career services department.

Part-Time Jobs
Assistance is also provided to the students who wish to pursue part-time jobs in order to finance their education. The career services department of Kaplan Career Institute is there to guide the students in this regard.
