As an addition to the mission of New England Institute of Technology (NEIT), opportunities to pursue the technological studies are also provided to the students so that their personal interests could be satisfied.
Included in the educational philosophy is the provision of Associate, Bachelor’s and Master’s level degrees to the students belonging to varying backgrounds and abilities. The mission of the college is based on the principle of providing access to the career opportunities through quality education to all students regardless of discrimination on any basis.
New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) remains steadfast to the belief that every student can learn. However, different students having different abilities may learn in different ways. The New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) pays regard to the importance of developing learning environment in classes and laboratories so that reasonable support could be provided to the students.
In 1977, the name of the institution was changed to New England Institute of Technology (NEIT), when the Board of Regents of the State of Rhode Island, provided Associate in Science Degree granting status to the institution.
In 1990, four new Bachelor programs were added to the offerings of the institution. In 1995, the institution savored the status of ‘Baccalaureate-Granting Institution’.
The enrollment in 1971 consisted of 70 students. However, the enrollment statistics for today exceed 3200 students.
In order to confirm the high standards of educational excellence, the accreditation agencies continuously evaluate the integrity, continuous improvement, accountability and open communication of the institutions which reside on their rosters.
The accreditation instills confidence in the educational community and institutions' constituencies. In order to evaluate the transfers of credit and applications for postgraduate study, the colleges and universities also rely on the accreditation status.

The career services office provides assistance to the students in many aspects of job search. In order to hone the career seeking skills of students, various workshops are organized by New England Institute of Technology (NEIT). Students are also encouraged to meet the career services staff in order to enhance interview skills, resumes and job search techniques.
Many employers regard New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) as a resource for new recruitments. They also submit job leads directly to the career services office of New England Institute of Technology (NEIT). Career services staff also develop contacts with the employers in order to figure out vocational opportunities for the students and graduates.
Office of Student Support Services
Student advisors become a source of assistance for accomplishment of the educational objectives of the students. They provide support to address the questions and concerns of students. They also provide guidance regarding the policies and procedures of the institution.
The student advisors are available for the resolution of difficulties faced by the students in coursework and the problems that may become a source of interference in the successful completion of academic programs.

The student activities coordinator works with the students in order to facilitate the activities that are of interest to the students. New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) encourages students to participate in such activities to enhance their leadership skills and to meet other students.

A housing coordinator is meant to assist the students in locating housing facilities in the area. The role of New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) is limited to facilitate the acquisition of housing for those students who are unfamiliar with the area.

The New England Institute of Technology (NEIT) was established in 1940 as a certificate-granting trade school. The institution savors the honor of providing educational services to the students for more than 70 years.In 1977, the name of the institution was changed to New England Institute of Technology (NEIT), when the Board of Regents of the State of Rhode Island, provided Associate in Science Degree granting status to the institution.
In 1990, four new Bachelor programs were added to the offerings of the institution. In 1995, the institution savored the status of ‘Baccalaureate-Granting Institution’.
