A BRIEF EPITOME OF THE HISTORY OF SANFORD BROWN INSTITUTE

The Sanford Brown Institute was established in 1866 by Rufus C. Crampton, a professor at Illinois College. The school was established to cater the demands of post-Civil War America.

Today about 30 private schools across United States bear the name of Sanford-Brown. The institution hires and maintains a group of dedicated professionals who stick to the goal of providing high-quality health care career programs.

STUDENT ORIENTATION

All new students attend orientation prior to the beginning of classes. The orientation assists students to transit into Sanford Brown Institute. At orientation, students are acquainted to the administration staff, campus, faculty and peers.
At orientation, an explanation is also given by the directors of administrative departments about the ways through which assistance is provided to the students. Students’ rights and responsibilities are also clarified at orientation.

ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE

For many reasons students are likely to seek academic assistance during their learning programs. At Sanford Brown Institute endeavors are made to foster relationships with student body so that individuals may feel comfortable in requesting the academic assistance.

The responsibility for Academic Assistance lies with the director of education and the director should be consulted when academic assistance is required.

When needed Sanford Brown Institute also provides referrals to outside agencies. However, the administrative staff and faculty members are also available for providing academic assistance to the students.

CAREER SERVICES

Advice regarding various career paths is provided to the prospective students during admission interview. The admission officers assist students in the assessment of their talents and discuss the motivation required to achieve career goals.

Students at Sanford Brown Institute are provided with opportunities for part-time employment as they pursue their studies. However, this assistance is provided to the students who show satisfactory academic progress.

The director of career services acts as a liaison between students and employers by promoting the students to prospective employers.

The career services are intensified as the students proceed towards graduation. Assistance is provided by the director of career services regarding resume writing, interviewing skills and networking techniques. The Sanford Brown Institute provides career planning assistance to the students and graduates; however, it does not guarantee employment after graduation.
