HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSITY
The institution received the charter granting authority from Connecticut State Legislature to offer degrees and it began as a junior women college at Mount Saint Joseph Academy, West Hartford.

Within two years the institution became able to acquire its own campus and it also received an approval to change its name to Saint Joseph College. Since that date, the institution has savored the honor of enhancing its enrollment and facilities. The name change was meant for representing advanced degrees and programs offered.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT CENTER

The career development center of the University of Saint Joseph provides support to the students and alumni to develop and achieve personal and professional goals. The career center adopts an approach of coaching that encourages students to take informed decisions about their careers and improve the job performance.

The career professionals provide assistance regarding writing resumes, job search strategies and interviewing techniques. Additional career services may include: vocational interest assessment, management workshops, career planning, career fairs, on-campus recruitment and help for the selection of academic major.

STUDENT ORIENTATION

The new student orientation program is sponsored by the Academic Affairs Office. The support for orientation program is provided by the student leaders, faculty, staff and administration. The orientation program becomes a source of introducing the students to the student life and academic expectations of the university.

The orientation program is meant for getting the students acquainted to the resources and services available to them.
