VISION OF THE COLLEGE

The Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences holds the vision of being recognized as a premier educational institution of multi-specialty allied health programs with students being benefited from the healthcare programs and with faculty and staff members shaping an exclusive learning environment.

A BRIEF EPITOME OF THE HISTORY OF COLLEGE

The Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences was established in 1916 by Theodore Melander. Initially, the college was given the name of Swedish Institute of Physiotherapy. Theodore Melander focused on massage therapy and he included exercise techniques, dietetics, medical gymnastics and physiotherapy in the curriculum.

In 1998, Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences was granted to award Associate degree in Occupational Studies. In 2003, the institution was granted by State Education Department to award Master of Science degree. The institution has expanded to offer degree programs in Advanced Medical Assistant and Surgical Technologist, Personal Training and Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree in Nursing.

SCHOLARSHIPS

The Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences provides scholarships to honor the students who contribute the development of institution. Scholarships are provided to the current students and are given in the form of tuition fee credits of up to $1000.

ACADEMIC ADVISING AND TUTORING

Upon request, the instructors at the college provide extra assistance to the students. Administrators provide academic advisement to the students in their areas of expertise.

The director of student services also provides tutoring services to the students. Tutoring program is coordinated either in a group or individual tutoring is also provided to the students.

ALUMNI AND CAREER SERVICES

The office of alumni association provides assistance to the students regarding job opportunities. Advisement is provided for job search strategies, interview techniques and resume preparation.

An extensive alumni network is also maintained that becomes a source of providing referral services, job listings and information for the continuing courses being offered by Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences.
